James Anthony
Rucshner
September 22, 1956 – May 25, 2026
James Anthony Rucshner passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born in Puyallup, Washington in the old JC Penney store, which was made into Good Samaritan Hospital to Marie and Max Rucshner.
He had three brothers and one sister. We lost Dave in 2012 and Jim this year.
Jim is survived by brothers Doug and Mark Rucshner and sister Darlene Conner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim was a member of the National Guard from 1976-1980. He worked at the Orting Post Office for a while, then Jim landed his dream job at the Orting Soldier Home, where he worked for 37 years and 3 months. During this time, he would drive the veterans to their appointments and treat them to ice cream. He loved it when the vets would talk about their world. Jim loved that and the vets loved my brother. Your love of fishing and hunting, playing in the woods and gambling – I got you started. Sometimes you would win and I would lose, but not that often because then I would have to pay for lunch. Thank you for everything you shared with us – the happiest of experiences. It will bring a smile to all of us forever. You will be very very missed. I am glad you are with the love of your life.
